WHO IS TPA ?

A Third Party Administrator is a company that processes insurance claims admissible under an health insurance policy. In general, TPAs are independent but can also act as an entity belonging to the insurer/s. These bodies are licensed by Insurance Regulatory IRDAI.
Thus they help insurance companies in processing claims and also act in-between hospitals , customers and the insurance company .

Dated 20.03.2022 : IRDAI has recently updated list of authorized TPA who can operate in India . Here is the list of such TPA to whom you can approach in the matter of cashless hospitalization and claims under Health Insurance policies . Some have special telephone numbers for senior citizens . ​You can go to the relevant TPA who is acting on behalf of the insurance company ,through whom you have purchased your mediclaim policy . It’s to be noted that the TPA Registration of ​Vision Digital Insurance TPA Private Limited had lapsed by virtue of time period and the IRDAI had rejected the their renewal application vide order dated 04.10.2021 . Now Hon’ble High Court of Delhi in WP(C) 10379/2021 has stayed the IRDAI order and the matter is sub-judice.
